OnePlus President Louis Lee has confirmed the brand’s newest smartphone series via the Chinese social media platform Weibo. The Turbo series will be aimed at the mid-range performance market, focusing largely on gaming and battery life within competitive price points.
Two Turbo models are expected to launch in January 2026, both packing large displays and batteries around 9,000mAh, according to tipster Smart Pikachu. At least one device is rumored to use a customized Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, per Notebook Check.
OnePlus has committed the Turbo series exclusively to China for now, with no confirmed plans for global availability. The announcement comes at a time when Chinese smartphone brands have been aggressively pursuing battery capacity as a key differentiator.
The OnePlus Ace 6T, which debuted the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 globally in December, also shows this gaming-first direction with dedicated gaming chips and the exclusive Windchaser Game Engine to maintain 165fps performance.
Similarly, the global version of OnePlus Ace 6T, the OnePlus 15R, with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (not to be mistaken with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5), a 165Hz display, and a 7,400mAh battery, launched in several global markets today. The Turbo series may eventually follow a similar strategy, but OnePlus has not offered a timeline for that transition.
