ChatGPT currently has no shortage of subscription plans. These include a Free tier that costs nothing but comes with limited usage quotas, as well as a $200-per-month Pro subscription that provides full access to the chatbot’s most advanced features. However, OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, may soon introduce a new mid-tier plan that sits between the existing Plus and Pro subscriptions.

According to developer Tibor Blaho on X, the new plan, dubbed Pro Lite, could cost $100 per month. It would likely appeal to users who require higher usage limits than the Plus plan offers but are unwilling or unable to pay $200 per month for the Pro subscription.

Information discovered on the checkout page describes Pro Lite as a plan that offers unlimited access to OpenAI’s top models, unlimited use of advanced voice features, and no limits on image and video generation. Additionally, Pro Lite reportedly provides access to priority-speed Codex agents. Code uncovered by Tibor Blaho suggests that Pro Lite could offer three to five times the deep-reasoning model usage quota available under the Plus plan.

OpenAI has yet to officially announce the availability of the new plan. Interestingly, nearly two weeks ago, a user on OpenAI’s community forum suggested introducing a $100 subscription tier, an idea that was met with support from other members of the community. Now, it appears that OpenAI may be moving quickly to bring such a plan to market.

A Pro Lite subscription for ChatGPT could be an ideal option for researchers, freelancers, and programmers who want access to the platform’s most advanced models and capabilities at a more affordable price. It could also help OpenAI attract a broader base of paying users. Users currently subscribed to the $20 Plus plan may also be willing to upgrade to a $100 tier to gain access to more features and higher usage limits.
